The 2 year old Queen do the Mississippi was not at all what we expected for the price of the cruise, $10,500 for a couple with balcony. We were traveling with two other couples. We departed from Memphis, sailed down the Mississippi to New Orleans. To begin, the first afternoon the cruise director was very disorganized and was reading wrong information in the greeting to the passengers.

The food was satisfactory at best. We were served dry lukewarm pasta, rolls that had been reheated from the night before and were hard and stale. And, there were other nondescript meals with issues that had to be sent back to the kitchen. However, the servers were very and worked to do their best and were accommodating but seemed overworked.

Our room was not clean. I found hair left in the shower and on the wall where the bed was located. The floor appeared not to have been vacuumed. There was a stir stick and safety pin on the floor and other debris. The track for the sliding door was bent and there was dirt in the corner of the track. The arms on the upholstery on all the chairs on the boat are soiled. The lounge chaises outside had not been wiped. The first afternoon I sat on one and got my white pants dirty. There were many other disenchanted guests as well. They would talk about it during the cocktail hour. The evening before we were to disembark we paid to go on a city tour of New Orleans only to be called at 9:4pm and was told the tour was over booked and we could not go.

It was requested but not mandatory that passengers put their bags out by 3am to be collected and taken off the boat by cruise personal for passengers to collect when they disembarked. We opted not to put out bags out the night before disembarking, however our friends did. Their bags had been left in the rain and were soaking wet inside and out and this was not an isolated issue. In New Orleans we came across two other couples from the cruise and their bags had gotten soaking wet inside and out also. I have been on several cruises, this by far was the worst one ever! I do have pictures of our room and the chairs.
