I have been cruising for 9 years with my best friend during this time of year. We are both married and our husbands are very understanding about our yearly adventure. This is the biggest ship we've cruise thus far. It is a little too big for me because it was hard for me to remember how to get to some places. But that is just my personal preference. I had a great time and would go again.

I have no complaints about the quality of food at all. Some things were average but others were wonderful (like the chocolate melting cake). There is one glaring problem in the dining room(s). On all my other cruises, the service has been prompt in taking our orders, delivering the food, cleaning the table for the next course, etc. It seemed to me as if the service staff was overwhelmed with the giant task of feeding this large group of people at dinner each night. We had to wait long intervals between courses and even to have our glasses refilled. I have the impression that each of the two major dining rooms needs its own kitchen.

Our stateroom was a new cove style and we loved it! I hope other ships follow with similar type staterooms. We had plenty of storage and plenty of room to move about. The bathroom shower is not such a good design because the bottom lip isn't high enough to keep water contained in the actual shower area sometimes. But there is a drain on the floor and water drained off fairly quickly. That said, there is plenty of shelf area for all those toiletry items we brought.

Activities were good. There seemed to be something going on all the time for all ages.

We went on a Carnival sponsored excursion both in Belize and Isla Roatan. Excellent! Very educational. The excursions were very organized and the guides gave us alot of good information. I would have like so have spent more time on each one but I guess there are deadlines to meet. We got back to the ship in a timely manner. There have been times in my past cruising experience where the excursions were just not worth the money paid, but not in this instance. I would go back to both of these countries and take another excursion.

I enjoyed everything about it and maybe some day, I can see myself repeating this itinerary. Butch and 'Baby Butch' did an outstanding job of keeping everyone informed of ship activities and I was amazed at their unending energy. I don't know how they do it! The dance group has potential but they seemed too 'green'. I've been on a dozen cruises and frankly the talent on this ship is lacking. Also, the lead singers were not very good either. More like high school than semi-pro.
