Just got back from first disappointing Carnival Cruise. Although the weather had something to do with this, you would think a ship of this size and with the latest technologies would be able to weather a slight storm called Emily. I have been on smaller ships in the Carnival fleet that have weathered worse. All that being said I understand the Captain's first responsibility is the saftey of the passengers. The public areas on the ship was way too small and the pool was too small for such a large number of people. However the dining room staff was exellent. Our server was Amira, she was very attentive and made us feel special. The alternitive ports of call was Turks and Freeport Bahamas. Loved Turks and would gladly go back, as for the port of last resort (ie Freeport, Bahamas) are you kidding?! It looks like a truck stop for boats and smells like fuel. Carnival should remove this from their list of ports of call, couldn't believe it when I woke up expecting at least a nice beach and found rusty old ships sailing by and a broken down dock. I could go on about his port but its over now, over all we had a good time. But being one of their flag ships in the fleet, they do much better. We did purchase future cruise certificates but we will probably use another cruiseline in the future using carnival as a back up.
