This was my 4th cruise, and my 3rd with Carnival. My husband and I went with another couple, and stayed in the largest category of suites. Check-in was great, as we did VIP, and skipped the horrible lines. Once onboard the ship, though, I was very disappointed. This was the worst cruise I've been on, and has turned me off of cruising, at least for awhile. The service on all points was dreadful, except room-service. Crew acted as if they could not be bothered to help, or even smile.

During meals in the dining room, I would order a side of veggies with every meal. Every single night it arrived after we had already finished dessert! It was difficult finding food to eat, even amongst the huge buffets, because the vegetables were underripe and overcooked. The baked goods were always stale and flavorless. The steakhouse, however, was amazing, but we did have to pay for that.

Our stateroom was amazing, and amazingly kept. Our stewards were wonderful. Thank God we had a huge balcony, so we didn't have to deal with the crowds and smoke at the pools to get some fresh air.

Because of terrible weather, we missed all but our last port of call. While "Donkey" (the assistant cruise director) and the cruise director came up with fun games to play, scavenger hunts, etc. The service at the help desk was dreadful. Often we didn't know what was happening, if we'd get refunds for excursions, etc. They were very overworked and put-upon, but several times I heard them yelling at customers. To be fair, they were getting yelled at alot, too. We didn't even bother going to shows, as they were so cheesy, and seemingly low-budget. We tried very hard to enjoy ourselves, and did a pretty good job, but it was a boring, cheap cruise. Making our experience worse were the other cruisers. This was obviously a budget cruise. We were in a large group of dancers and booked through a company, that's why we took this specific cruise, but from now on we will cruise out of Florida, and not scrimp, so we don't have to cruise with such a noisy bunch of first-time cruisers.

Unless we decide to take our daughter (and baby on the way) on a Disney cruise, we will not be cruising again any time soon. It would be better to do an all-inclusive resort, or save your money and book a better cruise on a newer ship or better cruise line. Although this cruise is cheap, it was still not worth the money and was a waste of time. The ship is outdated, tacky, and the crew were unhappy and grumpy. Apparently this was the last cruise before their time off, but it was almost funny how all the crew were so awful.
