Embarkation was fine, but not all luggage's arrived together. 8 points (Scale 1
to 10)
Cabin was so-so. Interior 4D Empress Deck 7th floor. Good size, Bad temperature
control. Poor sound insulation (be careful if you are romantic...) Bathroom
little bit awkward but functional. 5 points
Service: Steward EDWIN (panamian) was great. Kudos, Kudos, kudos, all
Thumbs ups. You will receive Royal Service from this guy. I suggest an
additional tip for him. 10 points
Food: average...certainly not a strong point. Portions are not generous
specially at dinning rooms, so you will have to go Happy Valley or NY Dely for
xtra fuel...also water is the only liquid included in dinning rooms, so ask
first to avoid surprises if you order soft drinks, even orange juice is charged.
Room service menu is severely limited. Some personnel have bad manners . 4
points
Public rooms. Average. Ship is clean in some areas but not In others. In
some elevators you have to pass through dinning rooms or back to take another
elevator and reach your destiny.. swimming pools undersized (watch out windy
days....breeze is so strong you can finish being a glide. Also there is a
topless sun tan area.... No video-no cameras allowed-only your eyes... 5 points
Entertainment: Over average. Many activities family oriented, although
most shows are PG-13 or over. there is a R rated stand up comedy with lots of
racial/sexual content that may offend some ears and eyes...but nothing porno:
guaranteed 8 points Stability: So-So...steady in short and low speed
travel....but too much rocker at high cruising speeds....bring Dramamine or
similar... 5 points
Ports of Call: San Juan, Aruba and St. Thomas are the best. Barbados is
ok. Dominica is tribal by USA standards. Negotiate tour prices. Pay 50% of price
offered by them. I took 4 tours (St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, Aruba) of 3
hours for just $15 each. Expect higher prices in San Juan. (Remember that Puerto
Rico is USA territory as well St. Thomas). Good opportunity to see hidden
jewels. Be open mind. We are not better nor them are worst. Just Different. 9
POINTS
Disembarkation: Organized but crowded. Try to have a night or late
returning flight to avoid lines at USA immigration and USA customs. Remember you
are disembarking in USA. 7 POINTS
Summary:
This is a average rating grade C 6.77 points ship. Most clients come from east
coast NY,MA,GA,FL,MI and Puerto Rico (Carnival sells it at low prices to locals
so you will see notorious presence of them (I am local too.)I paid $240 double
p/p.(was $195 for cuad cabin.) !what a steal! So if you like age and ethnic
diversity and enjoy fun and do not have complaints about lots of kids running,
you are in the right ship.
Recommended if you are low budget, fun, fun, fun, good time, and no frills
driven.
Not recommended if you are looking luxurious, high class vacation or homogeneous
atmosphere.
I expect this review will help you.
Have a nice cruise vacation.
