This was my second Carnival cruise on a slightly larger ship. I had a blast! Again, I'm a firm beleiver in making the best of what you have, and my fiance and I did just that. Easy and friendly check in, I don't know if they knew we were engaged or if we were returning guests, but we had a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room. We wanted to put it on ice, we called, less than 2 min later (not kidding).... knock knock and there it was! Service was great throughout all the ship. Everyone was nice. My fiance and I weren't into the shows or group bingo/events, we were more into doing different things, so I can't comment on that part of the entertainment. I wasn't thrilled with the live band they had playing on this ship, but the Piano bar guy (Brad) was honestly one of the best piano bar stars I've EVER seen. Every night there were things for us to do, never boring. Our maitre d' was very nice at the table, remembering all the details and very friendly. No complaints from the staff or the ship. The ship was well maintained, nice and bright, and satisfied the smokers and non. The sit down dinner meals I thought were great. There was one dessert they have that I ordered three nights in a row. The rest of the meals, I chose to just do buffets for ease and choice. The b-fast buffet I thought was great (even though I'm a simple omlette eater), lunch gave a ton of choices. Like all buffets, when cooking for mass amounts of people, some things hit the mark and some are just OK. I loved the sushi bar at night and the 24 hr pizza bar always helped when you need something at 2 am! Cleaned 2x a day, always stocked, always have fresh ice in the bucket, things neatly arranged. Fun towel animals. Some cleaners were more intricate with their towel animals, but they would always spruce things up with personal affects from the passengers. I still can't beleive the towel monkey hanging from the ceiling in my friends cabin. We didn't do many onboard activities on this trip.... but our table mates at dinner enjoyed them. We did the zip line (Canopy Adventure) in Ocho Rios... a bit pricey but worth every penny. I won't give away any surprises, but dress comfortable in tennis shoes. If it's hot, bring bug spray, and DEFINETLY bring a camera. We had a blast and loved every minute!
