This was a great cruise! My kids (15,13,12) loved it. Starting in San Juan
we had time to visit the fort which is only a small walk from the ship and
is definitely worth seeing. In St Thomas we went to Saphire beach for $8
each by taxi. This beach has great snorkeling and lots of sand to sun in.
There is a restaurant and bar right on the beach, with lots of equipment
you can rent. Dominica- we did the "Sulpher Springs and Trafalgar falls
tour". It's nice and relaxing, but don't get too excited about the sites.
The springs are small, and the falls are ok. The rain forest walk is nice,
and there are lots of crabs to see on the walkway. They say there aren't
any good beaches on Dominica. The next day we were in Barbados. We went to
Malibu beach for $3 each by taxi. You can see the beach from the ship
straight off the bow a mile or two. It doesn't have good snorkeling on the
beach, but for $15 each you can take a boat with the guys working the
beach (who are really nice guys) to swim with the turtles that is really
cool. In Aruba we went to Palm Beach where all the high rise hotels are.
Is a nice big beach, a bit crowded, but lots of things you can rent, like
banana boat ride, parasailing, etc. The ship is great, food was all very
good. We had two rooms, one in the very front and one in the middle. I was
really surprised how much more you could feel the ship rocking in the
front room compared to the one in the middle. Try to get a middle room! We
also had a balcony that I believe is so worth the extra money.
