This was by far the worst cruise that my family and I have ever been on! From the rudeness of the purser's desk personal, to unorganized structure of the excursion desk when it came to problems, the cold powered eggs served at the buffet, and the lack of welcome by the general staff on board. It seemed almost like we intruding on the staff of the Freedom by just being there and cruising with them?

It was the same basic menu for breakfast and lunch every day in the buffet The powered eggs were not even lukewarm, and the bacon was a mass of greasy meat. This was indeed a "lets feed the masses, not let's try to please those who paid for "as in the picture" type of meal. This was definitely a quantity made for the masses, not quality as paid for by the customer.

Lunch was the same old thing and I would consider very average. Dinner in the formal dining room was much better than the other meals, but the menu was humdrum. The food tasted somewhat bland and the food seemed to be loaded with salt. It's sad to see how far Carnival has come downward with their food :(

Our stateroom was somewhat nice and I would have rated it a 4 star except that there was enough dust under the TV for my wife to write her name under the TV. The bathroom smelled like urine for the first couple of days and Dissipated as the week went by. It appeared that the more that the water from the shower that hit the bathroom floor, the less the smell of the urine. This cabin was nice except it needed a good cleaning.

The onboard activities were the normal trivial games, casino, and activities that made carnival more money. The shows were somewhat short of other cruises, although I would give credit to the performers.

Don't miss the Jeep tours on the North Side of the island of Aruba. They were wonderful and full of information and just plain fun! Another fun tour was found on Grand Turk. We went Snorkeling on the cay and were able to up close some of the sting Rays that swim in the area.

I would recommend the Curacao aquarium and country tour, but make sure that the guide don't leave your party behind in the rush to get to the busses. We just had a bad experience with that tour.

I'm sorry to say that this experience with the Carnival Freedom was by far the worst cruise that we have ever been on!!! This cruise on the Carnival Freedom showed just how worn-out the crew and ship were when it came to the everyday routine of having a new set of cruisers aboard. This may have been the Carnival staff's 23rd or so cruise for the year, but to many people, this representatives their once in a year vacation. This is the first cruise of the year for the majority of the people on board, and the staff treated some people like they were numbers-NOT as the Customers that they were!!! Rudeness prevailed on board from the ship staff, and the cleanliness onboard the ship was less than desirable. For some reason the cruise seemed a lot more crowded than any other cruise that we have ever been on. The public places on board were jammed packed, and it was hard to find space around the ship , except for late at night when everyone was sleeping. Because of this cruise, I don't know if my family will be cruising with Carnival Lines in the future.
