This was my first time cruising but not on a ship. I was going with a friend who had been on multiple cruises before. We booked a balcony room. Thinking that the fresh air would be nice. Before we left for the cruise I was called about upgrading to a suit. I was told that the suit was substantially larger then the balcony and it had a tub and larger balcony. It also included VIP check in. Well its not worth it. I just got off the phone with carnival the VIP check is is complimentary and so if they don't want to do it they don't have to. I guess that was the case on our trip. The VIP check in was not VIP we did not have to wait in line for security for long but we then got brought to a hot room filled with people and we had to wait there for 45 min until we got checked in with keys. Then we were dumped back in the line to get on the ship. Our room was maybe 2 feet wider then the balcony room but it had a couch so that room was eaten up. The bathroom had a small tub. I am not big and I could not fit my shoulders in it so don't think you are going to take a relaxing tub. Plus it did not drain so by the end of a shower you were standing in 7 inches of water. I am not usually one to complain but I would like to get what I paid for and I did not get anything for the extra money. I could not even get a plumber. My Friend was just as disappointed and he said the food was not good to boot. I pictured us having a nice room and going on a great cruise. But the ship was not in good condition and I think the food was not any better then the food court at the mall. Try a different company or go for a cheap cruise and don't expect much.

The food was not great. I was expecting to want to eat all the time from what I heard about cruises but we had lunch and dinner. They were both not great. Dinner was better then lunch. The burgers were like hockey pucks. The buffet was packed and did not have enough seating. The dinning room had great service 2 nights slow 2 night.

Dark. The drawers were broken and the shower would not drain. The bed is 2 twins together so you have to sleep on one side or the other. You may fall in the crack in the middle.

there were not many. Glad we had books because they has shows at night but not much going on during the day.
