Overall, we were very satisfied with some things, and totally disappointed
in others. For example, we were supposed to get a balcony-we did not, but
our cabin was fairly big and the accommodations were more than adequate.
We wisely enough brought 4 bottles of wine, and our steward gave us a
corkscrew so we would just have a glass or two before dinner or we would
go up to the Lido after dinner it was my favorite, amazingly enough 3,000
people on board and we were alone-we did that every night after dinner
-because the wine is way overpriced. The food was wonderful, a large
variety in the platinum dining room (hated the seating though) Our waiter
was both friendly and efficient, he was very accommodating-I have two
teens and they can get fussy. He was great! The shows and the comedian
were both fantastic. But get there early or a pole will block your view.
The shopping on the ship was also good, some real bargains!! My kids were
bored which was a major drawback, my son is 13 so too young for teen
disco, and too old for camp carnival, my daughter didn't want to go alone.
This was a problem!!
Embarkation looked scary, but went ok total about 45 minutes, debarkation
went much faster approx 15 minutes. I enjoyed the secret shopper talk-and
I like the free charm bracelet very much.
The ports:
Key West-Great for my husband and I Again, Not a place for teens.
Belize-I recommend you book the excursion with the ship Goff's Caye, It
was worth every penny but bring some cash with you there are people there
selling chicken kabobs, and beers, inexpensively- Also they braided my
daughters whole head for $20.
Cozumel- We took our chances, got off the boat, took a cab-they are right
there, for $14 the driver took us to a place called Mr. Sancho's, were
they had horseback riding for $20 an hour per person-AWESOME, the ship was
$80 for that. We had a light lunch there is shade or lounge chairs for the
sun lovers, drinks were great-but about the same price as the ship. I
highly recommend this one.
Progresso- We chose not to take a 3 hour tour to the ruins. We hung on the
beach (Right next to the Corona Beach Party) they offer on the boat for
%50 per person, on the shuttle its only $30 per person, If it were just my
husband & I , we would have paid the $30 cause drinks and a lite buffet
are included. The water was filthy and after a while the constant
onslaught of people wanting you to buy things truly gets annoying. It was
a quiet day.
The Fun Days at Sea-Well the 1st one was fun, but I was sick on the
second. I believe it was from the salsa in Progresso-tastes great, Don't
eat it! It seems as if you are constantly being encouraged to buy, buy,
buy. The even had what they called a gala buffet at midnight- I've seen
better in Atlantic City, where they were selling cookbooks. I felt the
ship was pretty clean, but little things were annoying-The bottle of water
in your room-not free, you couldn't get a plain can of soda with the
fountain card had to be in a cup with ice. Oh by the way, we got three
fountain cards what a waste there is a color for kids and a color for
adults, well my daughter who is 16 hers was the same color as my husbands,
so for the small amount of soda he drank he could of used hers. I would
cruise again, but not sure about the Glory-they didn't even replace the
bulbs across the Lido deck-half of them were out.
