Well this was my first cruise. I went with 16 friends and family members.
I had saved every penny I could so that I could go on this cruise. There
were two of my friends that are retired so they got part-time jobs so that
they could go. We had been planning this trip for 8 months. The time was
here and we were ready to set sail.
There were eight in my group that were first time cruisers. Carnival sure
did all of the people wrong on this cruise. The ship caption was very
unsure of himself on what time we were to be back on the ship.
We get to our first port on Sunday and that was ok. When we left the ship
all seemed well. I was at the Blue Lagoon, that was boring. Nothing but
sand, water and beach. I was not at all impressed. While we were there we
were told that we would be there an extra hour. On our way back to port
Nassau the people on carnival Glory were told to hury back to ship that
they were waiting on us leave.
When we got back on the ship we were told that we would not be going to St
Thomas or to St. Maarten, we would go to Freeport and Key West. We were
given the option of getting off the ship and they would fly us back to
Orlando but we would have to pay for our own way back to Port Canaveral to
get our cars if we left then there. Well I didn't need to spend any more
money then I had all ready on this trip. So we all stayed on board. But I
could drive to Key West then fly over to Freeport and Nassau if I wanted
to see these places. It would be whole lot cheaper then this cruise coast
me.
When we were at Key West the time to be back at the ship was all messed
up. We were given three different times. Well the group I was with were
back at 4:30 but there were people who didn't make it and were left
behind. One group was brought out to the ship by a small boat but another
group never did get back on the ship
I am still very angrey with carnival that they did not offer us half off
on another cruise or part of our money back. I am still working with my
travel agent on this matter. I have contacted Carnival and written a
letter to them. My next step is to talk to the T.V. station in my home
town and then to my attorney. The other 16 people in my group all feel the
same way that I do.
I don't understand why Carnival has a guarantee, it sure did nothing for
the people on the disaster cruise of 02/19/2005. The Carnival Glory. I
think that they should change the name of this ship.
Good luck to all of you that pursue this issue with Carnival
Disappointed Cruiser
I do admit that I did have fun while I was on-board the ship. The group of
people I was with were a lot of fun.
