Itinerary: Eastern Caribbean
I now have sailed two times with Carnival. The first was a wonderful time
and I wish I could say the same for the ship Glory.
I had a party of fourteen traveling with me and they came from all of the
US to do so.
The Port at Cape Canaveral leaves a whole lot to be proud of being a
Floridian . The people were short with the customers and rude ,
unorganized and had trouble from the beginning due to the ship arriving in
port late and I tell you they seemed to take it out on the people.
A great deal of us flew in or drove 7 plus hours even coming from home in
Fl and stayed in motels . Not once did Carnival contact I or any member of
our group this was left up to my travel agent whom I commend for keeping
me up to date on all the problems this cruise had before it even left
port.
There are many many things I could say about this and I want to write this
to Carnivals president CEO directly . What I will say is what Carnival did
to all of us a full ship was a slap in the face and has made me decide to
cruise with another cruise liner from now on.
I will say we missed our first port of call but St. Thomas is a
magnificent port the beauty is worth the trip .The people friendly ,
informative and enjoyable .My group took a bus tour with Timothy he is
located in central square there and he is so worth the twenty dollars to
take a tour with him.
Two people from my group purchased diamonds there at a very reasonable
price. The views are just breath taking to see and the beaches great.
St Marteen the people were all over us from the time we got off the boat
the township unique but mainly jewelry stores your best bet to bargain is
the alley ways but have a man with you or group of people and be able to
say No over and over again. The nude beaches are real.
My sisters had luck in the Casino's there.
Now the ship my cabin boy was Roy you could not have asked for more . The
rooms we had some were ocean view and some inside . The ocean view was
large the bed comfortable to us and the comforters down and all the clean
sheets bath towels and beach towels you needed . Loads of closet and
drawer space. We were assigned to the Golden dining room first seating our
head waiter was Magen she was outstanding.
The food was good the portions small but from a dietary view what you
needed and after all you could have all you wanted of anything you wanted
from the starters to the main course and desserts, so if one did not get
enough to eat the dining room was not to blame . The buffet dining room
was to me amazing clean and staff efficient but breakfast was repeated
same day in and out and I did not think the lunch's and dinners were all
that but we always had Oriental , Deli, Pizza , and HB and hotdogs
available but the wait and lines were long.
We found the ship to be big but confusing and difficult to get around and
you were not allowed on deck four the staff was allowed deck three had a
lot chairs but most decks stayed roped off unavailable to us due to high
winds.
I was not impressed with the cruise director nor was I impressed with WEE
Jimmy I found him to be loud and honestly quite annoying after you heard
him twice.
We never got on our ship the day of sailing until 8:30 PM never left port
until 11:30 PM scheduled to leave four Pm so you can see with one entire
day missed from the start none of my group and the echo's on board many
people were unhappy but like I they tried to put that behind them and have
a good time , in closing Carnival lost a good deal of repeat sailers from
this and many more who had previous such problems with carnival and
decided to give it another try , not me , this was my last . Hope all your
cruises turn out to be great but research this ship closely it is a party
boat and CROWDED Always.
