Carnival Glory Cruise Review
Itinerary: Eastern Caribbean

Tom Jensen, Jr..
Age: 40
Occupation: Dispatcher
Number of Cruises: 3
Sailing Date: November 26th, 2005

We sailed from Port Canaveral and when I set this trip up I asked for a wheel chair for my wife (who has a medical condition) When we arrived, we were told they only had six wheel chairs in the entire Port, but Carnival did a great job in getting us on the ship.

The first port was Nassau, but we never left the ship as we had both been here before. We just went exploring which is the best thing to do when everyone is off the ship. St Thomas was second and we did the tourist thing and shopped. There are good deals on liquor. St Maarten was the third stop and we, along with some other people did some haggeling with the cab driver and went on a very beautiful ride around the island. If you can make the talks on the ship about the different ports of call, this is very helpful and will save you some money. They are well worth it.

The two days at sea are very relaxing and go by quickly. The best way to do everything or nothing. The shows were fabulous and entertaining.

The dislikes are this, the Red Sail Buffet is crowded not very well organized and at peak times no seats were to be found. Also I would like to see someone set aside tables for people who have to sit in wheel chairs. We had to wait for the elevators for what seemed like a long time they seemed to be running real slow on this ship.

When we booked we asked for early sitting dinner when we arrived we found we were at late sitting with a request we did get moved back, also they had a lot of fish on the menu, for those of us with fish allergies this is a problem as we skipped dinner one night because of this menu.

When we arrived back at Port Canaveral we had to leave the rented wheel chair in the room and walked down to the purser's desk and asked what to do to get a wheel chair to get off of the ship they said to wait by the lounge, we did and a person came by and assisted us off the ship and thru customs and out to the bus to take us to the airport. In conclusion it was a very nice trip with a few minor problems once again I can see why Carnival is so popular.
