In one word - MEDIOCRE. We have been on many crusies, but this is the first in 10 years. Last one was similar ship on Carnival - same class cabin - stern balcony. Level of service has gone down dramatically in 10 years. Quality of food in main dining room has gone down. To be fair, price has also gone down. The high-end added price Golden Fleece restaurant is well worth it - we ended up eating there 3 times on a 7 day cruise, but should not have had to feel that that was the only way to get high quality food. I tend to tip freely in cash and early in the crusie over and above the automatic gratutity added to the bill. My advice is don't waste your money - I did not see any appreciable difference in level of service form the staff even after substantial tips.

Main dining room is about the quality I would expect from a $12-$15 restaurant. High-end added-price ($30 per person) restaurant was excellent and well worth it. Go at least once, but make it at the end of your cruise so you are not spoiled. We booked for Wed. and ended up eating there on Fri. & Sat. as well because we could not face more nights of the main dining room ffod. Again Main dining room was not a bad meal, but you could get the same thing at a middle of the road restuarant - nothing special.

Stateroom was fine. We have been in the same class on Carnival before and were satisfied with it. We like the stern cabins with a balcony.

Average - aqbout the same as any other cruise we have been on. We are not big on participating in onboard activities.

Isle of Roatan is absolutely magnificent. If you are only going on one excursion on shore take it here. This port salvaged what would otherwise have been a disappointing trip for us. Even the view from the ship at the dock is beautiful.

SInce we have not been on a cruise in 10 years, I cannot tell if the general decline in service and quality are industry-wide or restricted to Carnival, but I would not take another Carnival crusie until I found out. It was not terrible - just not anywhere near what I had comne to expect from a cruise.
