The food that we had was good most days on Lido deck and was very good in the main dining room where we had breakfast, lunch (at sea) and dinner at our assigned table every night. We were given a table for 2 without even having asked for it and since it was our anniversary, that was a nice touch that we appreciated. My wife enjoyed all the meals that she had. I enjoyed all except one night my steak was more "well done" instead of "medium" that I prefer. The employees on Lido were very good about cleaning tables after people got up and even would take our used dishes before we left the table. The choices were numerous and pleasing. If you don't find something you like then you must be a very picky eater.
The room was always kept clean. They came in twice a day and replaced towels even when I hung them up to use again. Our stewards were nice and friendly as well as stewards of other rooms as we passed them in the hall. They work very hard to give us a nice vacation. Every evening when we were at dinner they would clean the room and make the bed with a towel animal and chocolates.
We didn't do the Lido deck activities, the Bingo games, or use the Casino, but we did see all the evening shows in the main theatre lounge and some of the music rooms. The singing and dancing acts were good and entertaining. The way they change sets and costumes so quickly is fascinating. The acts were not Broadway quality but they were certainly very good and much better than I could do. I think some people are too picky in this area of their reviews. The Cruise Director was fantastic in the show lounge and completely in his element. His marriage show was hilarious.
We enjoyed the Belize Historical Tour and Airboat ride in the swamps outside Belize City. The operators were very knowledgeable about their city and the wildlife in the swamps. The harbor is shallow there so the ship has to anchor five miles out, that can't be helped. The system of organizing tender boat assignments was better done than other ships we've been on. We also did the Express ZipLine in Roatan, but you don't have to buy your tickets on Carnival. It's a short walk up the shopping way past the shops to their base hut and I saw people purchasing tickets for less than I paid on the ship. The zip-line experience was fun and lasted about an hour with plenty of time walk around and shop before we needed to be back on the ship. The zip-line operators were very professional and safety oriented. That was my first zip-line and I would do it again. We didn't do an excursion this time in Cayman because we had done one last year and really enjoyed the historical tour with visit to the Turtle Conservation Farm.
My wife and I enjoyed relaxing in the Serenity hot tub every night after dinner and the shows (except the last night when returning to Tampa and nearing the coast some rain kept us away from the outside pool deck. The ice cream machine was left on all night outside on the middle Lido deck which we used after the hot tub. Another Carnival ship was at Cozumel when we were and some of their people were late returning. That ship was scheduled to depart before us, so their delay caused us a slight delay also. When you hear the ship's horn and you are out in town, that sound means "Get back to the ship now or we will leave you behind". Keep your watch on ship's time, not your cell phone on local time. The international crew works very hard to give us a nice vacation. We will be cruising again with Carnival next year! And with our kids too like last year!
