This was only our second cruise; the first being a 4-day cruise to Cozumel on Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas. My husband had to talk me into a Carnival Cruise as I had the impression of Carnival catering to a lower class of personnel, college-age kids, and lots of families. My husband and I are in our late 50's so a ship filled with "party goers" was not my idea of a good time.

However, I am writing this review as I was impressed from the embarkation all through the trip. I would say the median age of guests was mid 50's, all the people we met were enjoyable and interesting, and while there was enough to do, if you just wanted to sit and read, there were plenty of people doing that, too.

I can't say enough about the quality of the food, the Carnival staff, the cleanliness of the ship and our room, and the friendly ambience throughout.

I would definitely recommend this cruise--particularly to those interested in more of a cultural experience than just island hopping. And, we would definitely sail on Carnival again!
