For our 1st cruise ever my wife and I along with 2 friends had our experience on board the Liberty. At first we were going to cruise around the Eastern Caribbean but Hurricane Ike had better ideas but Carnival made some adjustments and we went west instead.

Our embarkation was a breeze seeing how we're 4 of the last 6 people to get on the boat so there were no long lines at all. Our bus from Miami International had some mechanical issues so we did a blazing 10mph to the port.

Once on the Liberty the wow factor was beyond my expectations the design was great and the ship was huge a floating city you could say. Basically the best place you could spend a week and for get you have a job, kids, pets, or anything else you're running away from for that week.

As for the food, dinner was our first of many cruising cuisine experiences and in the Silver Olympian Dining Room. We met our two personal wait staff Bagus and Igusti yes these gentlemen are running around to just more than our table but they make you feel like royalty when they are standing in front of you. The food was great every night there was something different to try like 5-star restaurant $50 a plate meals. The best part: WARM MELTING CHOCOLATE CAKE. Breakfast and on lunch on the lido deck hit the spot also they had the traditional goods bacon and eggs, burgers and fries, and maybe some of the local delicacies from the areas we traveled.

Our cabin was nice we decided to go with a balcony since it was our first time cruising and a word of advice unless you plan staying closed up in your cabin the entire time you're on the ship the balcony cabin can be a waste of $. The cleanliness of cabin was unbelievable housekeeping will adjust to your schedule everyday if your gone for more than 30 minutes your cabin is clean. Nothing is out of place fresh towels even your clothes are taken off the floor and folded neatly.

Onboard there was plenty to see and do games, stage shows, movies and so on. For me I enjoyed the casinos and late night comedy shows, my wife and a friend were voted members of a city I can not name during the Mardi gras party we had on the lido deck by the pool.

Our ports of call we did something together on all but one stop. In the Cayman Islands we went snorkling with stingray. I was scared but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.In Couzmel, Mexico we went shopping now that was different I enjoyed cuban cigars while one of our friends purchased clothing from a very friendly shop keeper. My wife learned that the tequila is a bit stronger there than it is back home. Belize city we went cave tubing that was a treat as long as you listened for "BUTTS UP" from our guide if you didn't want a belizian butt massage. Isla roatan, honduras we just took in the local scene for a short time because it was HOT.

It's official I'm a cruise junkie we are going back in july to do the itenerary we missed out on due to hurricane season.
