While this was my sixth cruise and fourth with Carnival, it will be my last with Carnival. The steady decline of the line in the past 4 years ended on this last cruise with the worst trip I've ever taken. Not only were their safety issues but medical issue too. The trip began with my sister getting hurt on the water slide because no one removed the board at the bottom they use to close the slide. The attendant let her go down and luckily she went down feet first. She hit the board and it flew up and hit her in the forehead leaving a nice lump and welt. Ok, stuff happens.

Next, the food in the buffet was barely warm and the offer pretty much the same each day. The 'Guy' burgers were good. The best meals were in the dining room and they were good but not great. The shows on board were bland at most., The best was the last day with the assistant cruise director. Even though it rained all day, she kept things lively in the theater. I wish the rest of the crew members had her enthusiasm and joy. The last night we didn't get a chance to get to the dining room and decided just to order sandwiches from room service. NEVER order tuna salad on the last night of any cruise. My mother and I got sick as we both ate the tuna salad. She was worse then myself as she passed out and hit her head in the bathroom the morning or our debarkation. It was a serious head injury which involved a hospital stay of over a week. Luckily, we are from Florida and I was able to drive her to the hospital because getting help from anyone on the cruise lines during debarkation is impossible. No one answered phones and I finally got her dressed and took her down to the service deck in a wheelchair. They informed me that the medical center was closed and they could try to round up an RN if there was one available. I should go down to deck 0 and wait. After numerous attempts I came back to the desk and said I could not get to deck 0 without assistance as it doesn't let me go lower than deck 1. Finally, I said I was taking her off the ship myself. They told me I couldn't because if I didn't leave when my zone was called I wouldn't get my luggage. REALLY??? Like I cared about luggage by this time? I've send a letter and an email and don't expect to get any answer from Carnival. This is my farewell message to them.....Carnival's owner needs to stop putting money into his Miami Heat and start fixing what is wrong with his cruise line.

Cold and bland food.

Stateroom and attendant were great.

Same boring hairy chest contest each cruise.

Excursions are cheaper if picked up on shore than from the ship.

Worst cruise of my life. I'm finished with Carnival. I guess you do get what you pay for. I guess if drinking and a tan are your only incentives for cruising, then Carnival may be perfect.
