I had so hoped that my first cruise experience would be great, but it was the worst travel experience we'd ever had. The check-in process was easy enough and we walked on board and realized that the boat was a dump. It was old, smelled of stale cigarettes and really needed updating. We got into our room, which was "supposedly" clean, but it was still filthy. The shower still had hair in the drain, the phone and remote had never been cleaned and the sheets had stains. Also, the crib we had ordered wasn't in our room, and the steward said the earliest he could get one was 7 p.m. That meant my 2 year old son couldn't take his nap and it made for a bad evening at Normandie Restaurant.

The food was pretty much like an old folks home grand buffet. The Normandie Restaurant food was ok, but nothing great. The people at Camp Carnival were awful. They kept calling me every ten minutes to check on my son since he was crying. So we couldn't even relax because we kept having to go back to the camp to calm him down. They never even played with him, just let him walk around the room. It's definitely more geared to 3 year old. The ship noise was unbearable because of the large waves and it smelled like vomit from everyone being sea sick. The only things to do on board were to gamble, get drunk or play silly games like bingo. The entertainment was ok - they tried hard but definitely cheesy. The beds were so hard that we had to sleep on top of the blankets.

I would not recommend this cruise line, or this ship and will actually spend my money flying directly to my destination instead of forcing myself onto a boat full of people I don't know or would want to know. Skip going on cruises, especially this one.

Old folks home grand buffet. The steak restaurant food was the best on board and Normadie's was ok but the buffet was gross after the second day.

Dirty, smelled funny.

Limiting and cheesy.

By your excursions off of the boat - they are cheaper. The boat charges higher fees to book it for you.

Awful - would never cruise again after this experience. The toilet seat was stained yellow, the shower was small and dirty. Stained sheets, and never cleaned before phone/remote (which I cleaned when I got there). Menu for in room food is limited and not great. Overall, I wouldn't choose this cruise or any other cruise line.
