My wife and I were both very impressed with our first ocean sailing on a major cruise line and plan to go on another Carnival cruise. Our balcony stateroom had plenty of room, the food was almost always very good, the Pride dancers and show band were excellent and the overall experience of this cruise exceeded my expectations in nearly every way.

The food was almost always very good and the free room service was great! My favorite dinner in the Normandie dining room was the lobster tail. Dinner at David's steakhouse was fabulous with every course a winner.

Spacious and comfortable. The balcony was wonderful providing floor to ceiling views all day. The table and desk were much used and the small but functional bathroom worked fine for us.

Most of them were fun and interesting, including the art auctions and shopping venues. The most disappointing was the casino -- just seemed to take all your money and not provide many players, plus very smokey and uncomfortable.

We went on all three shore excursions -- Grand Turk was my favorite with some nice shops. Half Moon Cay was beautiful but the glass bottom boat ride was a bit of a ripoff for the cost of more than $40. Port Lucaya at Freeport I could have done without but my wife bought some quality jewelry there at a good price. When you go out on a shore excursion be prepared for very hot and humid weather and blistering sunshine.

While this was our first Carnival cruise, we had been on a week long river cruise with now defunct Majestic America lines a few years back. We were also on a day cruise from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas years ago. This was by far our best cruise yet and I am looking forward to my next one hopefully not too far distant.
