This was my first time cruising, I was with a large group of adults celebrating my parents' anniversary. Overall we had a good time but I'm not sure I'll cruise with Carnival again. No issues getting on or off the boat as long as you are prepared, so many people don't read the rules and then hold the lines up. The boat theme was humorous but definitely not for kids with all of the nude pictures and sculptures. Everything is outdated and you can tell the boat could use an update. Don't bother trying to use the elevators when they are trying to move luggage the first and last days.

Food was average. Main dining room food was okay and the Mermaid Grille was good for snacking. We did "anytime dining" which was nice but you definitely had to wait long on the elegant nights which was ok with us since we'd just wait at the bar and they did send us a nice dessert tray to our rooms when they forgot about us one night! David's Steakhouse is worth the extra cost as it's the best food on the boat, though the service there wasn't great. Servers were much more accommodating on the main dining room. Drinks are way overpriced but you don't have much of a choice. Bartenders and bar waiters were AWESOME. They work long hours but took great care of us!

Staterooms were bigger than I expected and I found to be very comfortable. Bathroom was good sized and we had plenty of storage. Housekeeping and our steward were fantastic.

The perky entertainment crew can be a bit much sometimes. The comedy shows were great!! Dance shows/singing were just ok. The games during the day were fun. We spent time in the casino and most dealers were happy to teach us when they were slow. Pit bosses gave us a hard time sometimes but overall we had plenty to keep us busy. We loved the Serenity Adults Only area. While I love kids I didn't bring them on this trip for a reason!! And they actually enforced the adults only area which was wonderful. Same complaint as all resorts about people reserving lounge chairs but we just moved the towels if people didn't come around for a long time. Didn't seem to have enough beach chairs for everyone and it got tiring having to compete for chairs every day and being far away from a pool sometimes on 90+degree days. The pools were small and crowded. I didn't even attempt to go in them. We had two afternoons of rain and if you ran out of money to play at the casino it could be pretty boring. We ran into a few people that were complaining of nothing to do that didn't cost money.

We did the Governor's Beach excursion in Grand Turk and LOVED IT. We had a whole beach to share with maybe 20 people and had fantastic snorkeling and got away from the crowds. That Margaritaville place was crazy!! My dad and brother in law hopped in a cab who happily gave them a tour of the island and they felt totally safe at all times. Half Moon Cay was a lot of fun but it rained. The tender process stinks. No matter when you go you have to wait even with 3 tenders running. Freeport wasn't really worth even getting off the boat. A very industrial island with nothing to do but shop at mostly brand names stores. We did the Island Bus Tour and it was a waste of money. They drove though some neighborhoods and stopped a "farmer's market" that you can tell they just had a deal with because the merchandise was nothing exciting but we had to stay there forever. Beaches aren't great there either. I wish they would have chosen another island instead. Dropping you off right next to an oil refinery didn't feel very tropical.

Overall a fun trip! Put me in a beach chair with sun and a book and I'm happy. For what you pay though I think another boat or cruise line may have offered better food and activities. Getting to know the workers was some of the most fun! They have great employees on the boat! I think this is a great boat for people looking to have a good time and more of a 14 year old and older crowd. Didn't seem like a lot to do for little ones and the dining rooms didn't seem set up for families.
