Overall, we were not happy with our cruise for the following reasons -

- Too much time at sea, only two short ports of call, and lots of waiting in line.

- Lack of communication about voyage status and what is expected ie. rough seas

- My teenage son, first time cruiser, says he will never cruise again.

- Advertised basketball court, mini-golf, and water slide - all were closed most of voyage.

- Davids Steakhouse - food average, steak good, but my son got violently ill from the food - they could have cared less

- Allowed my son to play the claw game, a classic arcade game for children that is situated on the border between the lobby and the casino. A Carnival employee physically pushed my son into the lobby - we were right there - he should have addressed us, not used force on a 13 year old boy.

- Stateroom electronics are circa 1950; Internet service is terrible and extremely expensive.

Food was good not great.

Food at Davids Steakhouse cost more, and was bad not good. My son got violently ill after eating there. I asked for a refund of his dinner since we had to clean it off the state room floor. Carnival refused to provide a refund. We had a hard time getting Housekeeping to come. They were helpful when they finally arrived.

Well appointed, but the TV is circa 1950, one outlet, internet is very slow and very expensive.

Boring, most of the things we wanted to do were closed because of the wind. I'll bet those activities are closed most every voyage because of wind. I booked this vacation because I thought my son would have lots to do and he was bored out of his mind.

We enjoyed the excursions. Loved being off the ship and in the water. Lots of lines getting off and on the ship. Carnival, you have got to figure out a better way. There are two ways to get in and out of the ship but only one machine that keeps track of the cards? Little behind in technology, perhaps? Come join us in 2014 please.

Generally, Carnival employees were very nice and helpful. The Russian girls in David's Steakhouse think they walk on water. When you tell them that the Baked Onion Soup was awful, they say, "Ok, I will bring your salad now." REALLY??

Generally, the cleanliness of the ship was very good.

Less than five days before the cruise, Carnival informed that they would not be stopping in Freeport and offered $50pp in onboard credits (plus 25% off a future cruise but I am never cruising with them again, so this has $0 value). I was able to cancel my original cruise and re-book same for $500 less. Was Carnival slashing rates behind the scenes and only offering $50pp to the lambs led to slaughter? Little greed going on here?

Some of the equipment in the gym has seen better days.
