My husband and I took this cruise as a belated honeymoon and really enjoyed ourselves. There are a few things that I'd like to pass on. I read the reviews on this website before we left, to get some helpful insight. And because I benefitted, I'd like to benefit someone else!

We had a wonderful time! If you're looking for relaxing, no pressure vacation, this is it for you! There were a few times on days "at sea" that got a little long. If you're not into going to bingo, playing in the casino, or watching the activities planned, BRING A BOOK OR TWO. I blended well into all the activities. My husband is a little harder to entertain. He spent more time in the Casino on days at sea, than anyplace else.

We were not very impressed with St. Thomas. Get ready to be hounded to buy jewelry and getting your hair braided. The variety of the shops lacked as well. If we were to ever make a stop on a cruise there again, we probably wouldn't even bother getting off, or head to the other side of the island and see the beaches. We heard from others on the cruise that those beaches were the best they'd seen for snorkeling.

St. Maarten was WONDERFUL. We really enjoyed the beach there and really liked renting the jet skis. They advise you not to rent them while on the cruise. But it was the best $70 we spent on the cruise. For one hour we laughed and had the best time! It was well worth it. The shopping there is also MUCH nicer than St. Thomas, and the police get after people who are hounding you to purchase their products or visit their stores.

We stopped at Carnival's Half Moon Cay and it was very pretty. There isn't much to do there unless you just want to hang out on the beach. But I think that's the point of stopping there.

The food was fairly good. I enjoyed it much more than my husband. If you don't enjoy really FANCY dishes with lots of little french-type extras to dress it up, you will NOT like the food. On a scale of 1-10 I would give the food a 7. I would DEFINITELY recommed visiting the restraunt called David's. It had the best steak we've ever had. It is an additional $25/person to eat there, but it's well worth it for the 7 course meal they serve. It was a wonderful treat for us.

I had the chance to do a facial and an arm and leg massage in the Spa. It was great. I had a wonderful experience, and my skin was amazing afterward. They had specials at the end of the week, so don't go and do it right away. It will save you several dollars to wait until Thursday or so! But do it then, it was great!

Whatever you're planning on doing, on board or off, plan on standing in line. We did a lot of that. And while it didn't bother us so much, we heard other complaining saying that on other cruises they didn't stand in line at all. So if waiting is hard for you, you may become frustrated sometimes.

We certainly enjoyed it enough that we're going back on a cruise next year. However, I think we're going to try a new ship, but still going with Carnival, so they must have done something right!
