I think its hard to NOT enjoy a cruise, even if the ship doesn't meet your expectations. We had a wonderful cruise because the company was good, not because of how well run this cruise ship was. The service was poor, the food was not the best and the design of the ship left us saying, "why would they do that" quite a bit. The waterslide, for example dumps you out next to the smallest pool on the ship and away from everyone. Odd. The atrium was tiny and it was closed off at about the 3rd floor. Very few shops on the boat as well.... but we had a ball.

The food was not very good. They over-cook all meat selections. One of the appetizer options for adults was chicken fingers... no, I'm not kidding. The lido deck buffet was not only closed down a lot, but they put these awful trays over the serving area which looked cheap and uninviting. The room service menu was very limited.

We had a suite, and it was smaller than those on Holland America's ships or that of the Caribbean Princess. It was clean though and the beds were amazing! Soooo comfy! Great linnins and pillows. The balconies are smaller thatn the other ships too.

Onboard activities were the worst! They had trivia games inside the ship, a hairiest chest contest; just dumb stuff that you can miss for sure. The shows were good, but it was the same thing every night. The same performers. On past ships, every night was different... a comedian, a Vegas-type show, magic, etc.

I would say if you want to take an excursion, take a taxi to your desired place and pay for it; it costs at least 50% less and when you're finished, you don't have to wait for a whole group... you can move on.

Here's the scoop...we thought the new ship would be so fantastic, but the layout and how they used their space was not impressive. The food was not great, it takes forever to get a wine steward to bring your drinks or sodas for the kids. The kids liked the kid's club... I mean what's not to like... a bunch of kids their own age to hang out with? The piano bar was a ton of fun, and Ron the piano man makes you not want to leave. Like I said, if you go on a cruise and let that stuff get to you, you're crazy, because you are not going to starve on a cruise, you are going to wonderful places and you still don't have to cook or clean or anything. They have 3 orr4 pools and enough to keep you busy and enjoying your company. I loved it, but I had my family with me and every minute was great.... except when I got a little sea sick on the last day... but even that wasn't enough to ruin my vacation.
