After having quite a few great cruise experiences, this one did not measure up. We were pretty disappointed.

Food was great!

Stateroom was fantastic and the steward was awesome!

They didn't seem to have as many activities for adults as past cruises. They did, however, have A LOT for kids to do, which included riding the elevators for fun, running up and down the halls late at night and overloading the main pool! If unruly, out of control kids bother you, DO NOT book this cruise! I was VERY disappointed with the bingo. EVERY cruise I've been on, they paid back what they collected with a huge ($10,000) jackpot on the last day. We calculated that they collected over $20,000.00 for the week of bingo and paid back about $2500.00. The last day they attracted a big crowd with the chance to win $5000.00. They failed to tell you that you'd get $5000.00 ONLY if you won the game AND did it in 30 numbers or less. The final winner got all of $1000.00. Things must be really bad when Carnival has to trick it's passengers and keep the entire bingo pot each game. VERY sad!

We did not go on any excursions but heard pretty good things about most of them. In past cruises, they gave talks on what you could do in each port if you wanted to do your "own" thing. This cruise not a peep. They just pushed the cruise sponsored excursions.

I've cruised several times both on Carnival and other lines. The last time was 2003. My how things have changed! I got my girlfriend all worked up because she had never been on a cruise before and I told her how great it was. Needless to say, she was not impressed either. Carnival completely blew the embarkation process. There was bad weather and they seemed very unorganized. There was quite a bit of squabbling amongst the stafff trying to get the guests where then needed to go. Then the Captain decided the weather was not good enough to leave Long Beach, we finally got underway around 9 PM. They changed our itinerary several times from the time I booked until we actually got underway. I booked Long Beach, Puerto Vallarta, Matazlan, Cabo San Lucas. I received an email saying we would not be stopping in Puerto Vallarta or Matazlan and that we would instead spend 2 days in Cabo and go visit La Paz. Tuesday morning it was announced that we would be going to Puerto Vallarta, still no Matazlan and a stop in Cabo San Lucas. We noticed the captain decided to go only 22 kmph when leaving Long Beach "for the safety of the passengers". However, we also noticed that he uped it to 40 kmph about half way through the last day with NO regard for the "safety of the passengers". The seas were rough and his speed made it very uncomfortable for the entire ship! Anway, I feel completely taken advantage of and my intelligence insulted, not to mention the $22.95 for one single 8 X 10 photo! Are you kidding me???? I'll not travel with Carnival again, they've become completely classless.
