Worst Carnival cruise in the 5 cruises that we've taken with them!!

Throughout the cruise there were multiple issues with the service that we received. There were not enough wait staff to handle the number of passengers aboard this ship, the 24 hr. pizza took forever to get because the cooks NEVER had enough prepared, the only ice cream machines that worked the entire time that we were on board were all the way in the back of ship -- and this area was rarely ever clean and from time to time smelled sour, the drink machines where you would get iced tea and lemonade were not working 50% of time that we were on board and last but not least on the last day of our cruise the wait staff in the Paris dining room were extremely rude and once our food was delivered they never came back to refill coffee or juices and we eventually left.

The only positive experience we had was with our room steward, Reinaldo. He was great...he always kept our room nice and tidy and greeted us in the hallways by name whenever we would see him.

We found that the activities for us to do were the same things that we had done on our past cruises. The hairy chest contest, the newly wed game & bingo are getting really OLD. I think that it is time for Carnival to rethink the activities on their ships as they are all the same time and time again.

My husband, myself & our 6 year old daughter have been on 5 cruises with Carnival and this last one was the worst overall. Our bad experience started out with our luggage being left out in the rain before being loaded on the ship and only got worse from there on out. Once the luggage was delivered to our stateroom 1/2 of our clothes which were packed in three suitcases were soaking wet and had to be hung up in our stateroom to dry. The next problem came when we went to take a shower, the drain beside the toilet would back up and cause our whole cabin to smell like sewage.

Once we were able to freshen up, we then began to explore ship as it was our first time on board. To much dismay I noticed that there were numerous areas of the ship that need to be either touched up with paint or repaired such as the steps leading from the kiddie pool to the miniature golf area. On the past cruises on the Conquest & Fantasy ships, I clearly remember crew workers consistently touching up & repairing parts of the ship throughout the entire cruise.

On the last day of our cruise due to the bad weather and the delay in our arrival, there was an announcement made that the phone lines would be opened up for us to use free of charge so that we could contacted our family to let them know that we were OK but that our arrival would be delayed. We tried numerous times to make phone calls from our stateroom but were unable to do so. When we reported this problem to guest services we were told that the lines were just really busy and to keep trying which we did but we were never able to get a line out.

And as if all of that was not bad enough -- the disembarkment process was a DISASTER!!! There was no organization by the Carnival staff and they had no control over the hoards of people that were continuously packing the main lobby area. During our past cruises, the crew would shut down the elevators so that no one could come down from the upper levels directly into the main lobby area. This did not happen nor did any of the staff members prevent people from coming down the stairs before their scheduled zone/floor was called.

With all of this being said our group has agreed that our next cruise will not be with Carnival. We will be trying out another cruise line on our next trip out of New Orleans.
