My cruise on the Carnival Triumph was great. There was a short wait during the pre boarding process. On board at 11:45 am eating lunch. There was a party on the lido deck when we set sail at 4:30 pm. The staff on the Lido was ready to serve drinks to everyone as they entered the dining area. They were kind of pushy the first day but eased up after getting out to sea. The luggage had already began to be delivered to the cabins and I had all of mine by 5:30pm in time to change for dinner in the London dining room. Our waiter was Watson who took very good care of us during the cruise. The food in the London Dining room was great. If you were hungry when you left then you did not eat. The food on the lido deck was pretty good depending on what you ate. The Coney Island grill had great burgers and hot dogs but the steak was not that great. The NY Deli had the best sandwichs I have had in a long time. I had a great time at the Hollywood Dance club, the DJ knew what to play to keep the people dancing. The Karaoke in the Club Rio Lounge was fun and Linka was a fun host. The Venezia with the International Band was great. I didn't go to the The Big Easy Piano bar but saw people there just singing with the piano player. The casino was ok, made a few dollars at the slots. The comedy and stage show was nice. The games were funny. At the Battle of the Sexes the women walked out on round one which gave it to the men however they tried to beat the men during the second round. Shopping on Board was so easy and simple with the sail and sign card.
The Islands which we visited were fun. Cozumel was humid but had a nice shopping. You can get deals if you know how to talk to the merchants. You get better deals away from the port. Costa Maya was ok, they were still recovering from the storms and is a pretty new Cruise port in which I know that in a couple of years it will be a port to remember. Shoppong there was not that great but at the shopping area there was a big pool with a bar at the waters edge. FUN,FUN,FUN
Ocho Rios Jamacia was also recovering form the storm however our driver Fresh who drove us around the Island took care of us. Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville was great. Great drinks, food, music, even a water slide. We also went to another restaurant away from the dock area and had a great meal and good Rum Punch.
Had a good time in Jamaica, Most of the passangers wished that we spent a little more time there.
Well on the way back to the states we found out that the Port of Miami may be closed about the time we were to dock because of the storm. We had two extra days at sea. The Triumph went from Cruise ship to Cruise Shelter. Two more party days and nights. 9 day cruise. WOW
I have read other reviews both good and bad and now have my own. All in all I hade a great time and ready to go again on a Carnival cruise ship next year.
