Carnival, what can I say, the fun ships! That it was. You would be crazy not to
have enjoyed this sailing. There are so many positives, from the room stewards
attention to detail to the wait staff -- how can you say anything bad?
Well, I wanted to put some of the cons out there so that you can better prepare.
CONS: Dining, if you have a large party, call carnival a few days before and
make sure you are being seated together. We booked a family of 10 months before
and we did not get to dine together. Although we requested a correction to their
mistake, it was not accomodated -- that sucked. Alcohol purchases on the ship:
They do not allow you to take the liquor that you purchase on the ship, you must
wait until the end of the cruise to take possession. Also, any liquor you buy on
shore, they want it until the end of the cruise. I guess it is in order to keep
the overpriced bar drinks selling. SOLUTION: Pack plenty of liquor in your bags,
ours made it all through with no problems! Tours: Remember, you can and will do
much better getting off the ship, and having a local tour operator fill your
needs! They are less expensive, usually of the same or better quality and the
money stays on the ISLAND! Carnival is really greedy, they want all your money
-- but remember (because Carnival seems to have forgotten) the only reason these
small islands and countries allow 3000 people per ship (sometimes 4 at a time)to
dock is to help their economies. If Carnival and the other lines don't start
making it worthwhile, these ports will shut US out, what a pity -- Belize is
already starting to restrict the numbers! CARNIVAL!!! THINK ABOUT THIS!!!
I don't want to be negative, because this was an incredible cruise. Lines were
long but usually quick. People were friendly and the staff was helpful. Getting
on and off the ship as well as getting our bags was a breeze -- they handled
this better than most. The activities and the shows were world class. This is
definitely worth every penny and then some. I would recommend this cruise --
