We just returned home today from a week-long cruise to Cozumel, Grand Cayman,
and Ocho Rios.
This was my husband's second cruise. It was my sixth. It was the first time for
our 9- and 11-year-old kids. We were excited to get them enrolled in Camp
Carnival, but my 9-year-old daughter didn't have fun, yet my 11-year-old did. My
daughter said she was bored, so she didn't go often.
We absolutely LOVED the Cruise Director and his staff. Mark Price is a born
entertainer! He and Wee Jimmy made the cruise a lot of fun! We couldn't make
everything, but what we missed we were able to see on the TV in our stateroom.
The Super Shopper (Andrew) is an AWESOME wealth of information! He tells you
where to find all the great bargains while at port, and will even help you
haggle with the merchants if you're not very good at it on your own! We simply
loved him (he helped us save a lot of money, and he's such a nice guy too!).
Now for the negative part. I didn't feel my cruising experience overall was as
good as in time's past. The food wasn't as good. The cabin steward wasn't great.
(Many times she forgot to replace items that were missing from our room, like
shampoo, etc.) On our last night, she failed to deliver our customs papers,
envelopes, and survey forms. We had to hunt them down from the Pursor's Desk.
Overall, we had a blast though, and would definitely not let this one experience
stop us from cruising with Carnival, or on board the Triumph.
