This was my second time on Carnival. I didn't want to go because my last experience was less than great. It was way better than the first one. The airlines lost my luggage for an entire week that contained my dress clothing and the guest services people at the desk were extremely helpful and kind. One guy at the desk, whose name was Aidan truly went above and beyond my customer service expectations. He gave me free laundry for the week, my spouse a free tux rental, a 20% merchandise credit for the on board store and removed all room fees (tips) for me for the week. The boat needs to have more clothes in the on board store as I was not able to purchase dress clothes The formal rental store did not have anything for women to rent other than an outdated black velvet shirt and ugly gold blouse that looked like from 1970. It was difficult to get a chair out in the sun as people got out at 8:00 am and saved seats for friends that never showed up and people were allowed to smoke in too many places. Overall, I was happy with the cruise line because of the great service the people in guest services delivered. They made phone calls every day on my behalf trying to track my luggage for me.

The food was good but the last two days the selection in the dining room was boring. The waiter who always took our drink orders was always late getting to our table. Overall the ship had and excellent selection of food. The deli, the pizza parlor, the hot dog/burger stand and non-stop ice cream certainly was a treat.

The state room was large, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The shower was a little difficult to adjust the heat setting on but once we learned how to use it, it was fine. The staff was great about bringing extra towels and cleaning up the room. Every night the bed was turned down, with a cute animal towel and chocolates for us.

The on board activities were okay. Not enough dance clubs for people 45 and over. The shows were quite good although one night it was canceled due to technically difficulties. I liked the gym and the sauna and steam room.

Stay away from Kelly's Shore excursions for Sting Ray City. We had been on Captain Marvin's before and it was so much fun. We were picked up at the pier and then the boat slammed against the dock while transporting us onto a smaller boat. . Ouch....many of us got jolted. Then the transport boat to Sting Ray City was too small for the amount of people, so those sitting on the lower level got soaked. The worst part was that other excursion boats were giving out food to their passengers to feed the sting rays which we had experienced in the past. They only had one guy dive into the water, hold the Sting Ray and let us pet it. What a bummer!!! Not much interaction with the Raus. I asked the boat next to us for some conch and I was able to feed one Ray. The jungle excursion in Honduras that included Zip Lining looked like a blast. We did the walk and the snorkel and regret not doing the Zip lining. The cave tubing in Belize was fun and so was the 2 reef snorkel in Cozumel.

The trip would have been much more enjoyable if I had my luggage but this was not Carnival's fault. I just wished that they had a store that sold better quality dresses and other items. One woman needed a bathing suit and you could not buy one on the ship. The photographers were rip offs. They wanted $20 for a picture and would not sell us just the CD. After a week on the ship, we were still a little confused as to how to get to certain areas on the ship. Not enough signs for directions. Overall, Carnival was a good value for the money!!!
