Carnival Valor Cruise Review
Western Caribbean

This was my first cruise and I loved every minute of it! My parents traveled before on a cruise ship and they invited us on a trip to Miami and 1 week on the Carnival Valor. We are a family of 6 (2 elderly parents (70 years old) 2 daughters with husbands (40 years old) from the Netherlands. We had no problems checking in.
We loved our cabin, it was much bigger than expected. We were on the second floor, exterior. Our steward was lovely and always in a good mood.
The food on board this cruise ship is amazing. The prices you would have to pay in Europe (we are a Dutch family) for the food the served in the main dining room every night! It would have cost us a fortune! Lobster, all kinds of fresh fish, deserts from heaven and kind waiters. Also the breakfast and lunch buffet were outstanding. Why so many people were eating hamburgers and pizza all day and every day, when there were such amazing fresh salads or grilled chicken? We kept wondering this during the whole cruise. The gala dinner, the midnight dinner and the chocolate lunch buffet bring back good memories.
The stand up comedians were great, but the shows were lousy. That lady can't sing!! We had fun every night at the casino or one of the bars. And if you were looking for some privacy: you were most of the time alone outdoors in the evening. The only other people were probably also not American as they love their air conditioning.
Two small complaints: there is a sewer
smell on the second floor between the to main elevator, so if your room is there
you will not have a fun cruise and second: for some European quests the very
quick speaking cruise director is sometimes difficult to understand. One small
meeting for non-American speaking quests would have made it a 100% score.
