Carnival Victory Cruise Review
Western Caribbean

Mary C.

My two teenage daughters and I just returned from a wonderful cruise on the Carnival Victory. Everything about this ship is glorious. We loved the ship's art decco motif and elegant details. We also had a cabin with a balcony and I am spoiled! The cabins are large and spacious and so was our bathroom. We had a room with two twin beds a sofa that makes into a bed and a upper bunk (that my 11 year old loved!). The entertainment was certainly as good as anything I've seen in Vegas and the meals were wonderful.

The only thing I would do differently next time is that I would not buy the soda fountain cards that they sell on the ship. The fountain cards include gratuity and I thought would be a great purchase for myself and the kids since I don't drink alcohol. Our three cards cost about $100.00 total and I don't think we drank enough soda to justify paying for them. Additionally, the buffet has 24 hour lemonade, iced tea and punch. Also, I don't think I would book my shore excursions through the ship. We went to Grand Cayman and paid $30.00 for a beach excursion which was advertised as including transportation. Well, the transportation was not included and we ended up having to pay $4.00 a piece for a taxi (both ways) and got nothing more than a lounge chair. We had to pay an additional $10.00 for the rental of an umbrella ($5.00 is returned when you turn in the umbrella). Other than that, we had a wonderful time and would definitely chose Carnival again!!!
