Carnival Victory Cruise Review
Halifax, Canada
Steven Migdon
I just got done reading Bob's review of
this cruise and had to ask my self, "Was this guy on the same boat as I was?" He
blasted it...I LOVED it. Just goes to show you...these reviews are very
subjective, and a cruise is a good as you make it. Personally, I've had cruises
that were better than others, but for the most part, I've NEVER had a bad
cruise.
EMBARKATION: It was a breeze. Although the NY Port isn't as nice as some of the
others (like Port Canaveral) the people were very nice. Onboard and eating by
noon!
FOOD: We ate in the dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and had great
meals. For the most part breakfast is breakfast, but I found the variety of
foods available for lunch to be wonderful. But you could get a burger if you
wanted. The buffet was also good and the Chinese food was outstanding! Great
soups and stir-fry's. The pizza was wonderful, and the deli was good too. Dinner
was outstanding as always. Our waiter, Wayan and his staff was there for our
every need.
ENTERTAINMENT: The shows were as usual, fabulous. I read where one person
criticized the costumes. They tell you every way they can that these are Vegas
style shows. The talent show was wonderful...but I have to say that...I was in
it! I sang SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR ME and the band was very
accommodating. Great guys! I had a great time and people were very nice. Dana
and his staff made me feel right at home. The night spots were nice too, except
I wish they would have kept the 70s/80s band playing longer. They stopped at
Midnight...right when I was ready to party!
The boat is beautiful and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. I
liked it so much I am going on the VICTORY again in October. Cruises are what
you make them folks! And Carnival does them good! Can't wait to go again.
