Carnival Victory Cruise Review
Halifax, Canada
Daniel Ross
In the past 14 months I have sailed on the
Victory twice. Once in the Caribbean and now a trip into Canada. The ship is
comfortable, it is nicely maintained but this trip was a major disappointment
for me. The reasons for this disappointment is the decline in service from the
employees, I attribute that to the fact that a 15% gratuity is already put in
the price of your cruise and they do not have to earn that any longer. A second
reason is the shows in the evening, Carnival has not changed their floor shows
in fourteen months. They remained the same and for the most part were not worth
seeing again with one exception the Illusionists. The magic show is exceptional,
high marks, even for a repeat. The food on board has declined, in the past the
food was on the level of a high end restaurant, now it is a good meal that you
could prepare at home. One of the pleasures that I enjoyed on the 1st Victory
cruise was the piano bar and sing along, it was for a lot of cruisers favorite,
evident by the number of people found there. Carnival needs to see that and move
it to a larger room so it can be enjoyed by more people. My disappointment with
Carnival is hard to put a finger on but it is a feeling in that I have enjoyed
Carnival in the past. Recommend for 1st time cruiser but if you been on Victory
before don’t return!
