If you’re reading this review, you’ll probably read the others that are available. Keeping this in mind, I’ll skip the general information that is available and repeated elsewhere and tell what we thought was noteworthy.
Parking at the pier is available for $ 18 per day
Check-in was easy and quick-arrive early!
Be prepared for a souvenir photo to be taken before boarding ship
To change assigned meal seating, go to the Atlantic Dining Room ASAP and see head waiter. First come first served.
If you like snack food in your cabin, bring it with you in a carry on.
Once on board you can go right to your cabin. Your luggage arrive in a couple of hours
Bring warm clothing- sweats, are ideal. Expect cool foggy weather, especially on the sea days.
My wife found the ship chilly in all areas, bring a sweater.
Don’t expect to use the hottubs unless you like kids joining you. Age restrictions are not enforced.
Skip Peggy’s Cove if it’s foggy. There is nothing to see and three hours to waste.
We rented a car instead. The Hertz counter right inside the arrival building gave us a Ford Taurus for the day for $ 50 dollars, insurance included. It’s a much better way to explore. Get off the ship early to maximize your touring time.
Consider bringing a cell phone to call home with. Ours seemed to work well ,even out at sea. The internet café’ was the next best bet for checking in with the family. It’s 75 cents per minute. (The ship’s phone was $ 9.50 per minute)
If you are bringing kids, get a couple of two way radio’s to keep track of them. Also available on board
