I want to express how disappointed I am in the Carnival Guarantee.
I use a CPAP machine and forgot to bring it. The dockside people could not have
been more helpful.
They called a supply company to deliver one to the ship, but apparently assumed
that the company knew the name of the ship.
When the machine arrived I asked if I could get it. I was told it was being put
onboard and not to worry. It was left at the dock.
I asked them to send it to Cozumel as I needed it to sleep. They told me that I
would have to pay the airfare, but could not tell me how much that would be.
They told me how sorry they were, but then told me that the guarantee was a 20%
discount off my next trip. There will be no next trip, and that isn't what I
call a guarantee of happiness. Next is the gratuity. They take it the very first
day.
How can that be for service when you have received no service and they take 39
dollars from every passenger. Because a twelve year old girl came with our
family, she had no credit card on file. They sent me two demand letters while on
my cruise. These letters acted as though I owed them for her gratuity. I
wondered if they would let her off the boat without paying the tip!
The food was mediocre and the service was not stellar. why should it be stellar,
the staff knows exactly what they will receive regardless. There is no room to
consider the quality of the service because the cruise line decides how much
they want you to pay their staff instead of them paying their own staff.
I would never cruise a company that takes the money in advance.
Only prostitutes are paid in advance.
