After all the TV commercials for Carnival, my family of 4 had very high expectations for FUN! It was an extremely big let down. If you don't gamble and you don't drink, there is nothing to do. This ship has 3 pools, the largest was overrun by the 8 to 12 year olds. There was a very small kiddie pool and then another pool, very small for cooling off in. My teenagers never set foot in a pool - it just was not possible. Carnival advertises a teen club. There was never anyone in it as far as an organizer. Two dances were advertised for one hour on two different nights, the DJ never showed up. Someone finally came to "monitor" the music once, but would not change the CD that played over and over and over. Both of my boys hung out with other kids at different times, but there was still nothing for them to do. Now there was a video arcade - about 8 games, only one all the kids wanted to play and it was partially broken. Carnival advertises all this fun, but my boys were totally miserable which did not help me and my husband have a fun time. There are many lounges with different music at night and there was a big show at night that was very good. There is a spa on the ship, of course there prices are very high. There was Bingo sometimes - $10 a game and also gambling. During the day we just sat around, played some cards and hung out. Again, I don't know where the 24-hour, non-stop fun was. There was nothing to do but drink and gamble.

There was plenty of food, but it was on par with a school cafeteria. This was not just our opinion, there were others very disappointed with the food. I couldn't even get a sub sandwich or some nachos. Hamburgers and hot dogs were available and there was a 24 hour pizzeria - which was OK. The food was fine, just nothing exciting or exceptional. The service people on the ship were very nice and friendly, but the ship's crew never even nodded at us or gave us any greeting of any sort. Overall this was a pretty miserable trip and it was because my boys were so disappointed. I promise they were out there looking for the FUN, but it was not on this ship.
