Carnival's Celebration Cruise Review

Cruise Line: Carnival
Ship: Celebration
Sailing Date: April 28th, 2005
Itinerary: Bahamas

Carnival Celebration was our 4th cruise. We have taken Royal Caribbean and The Big Red Boat Cruise Lines. We were very disappointed in this ship. The food and service in the dining room was excellent, buffet OK. Since Carnival has changed the gratuity from guest tipping at the end of the cruise, they add it to your room charge. This diminishes the service you receive while on the cruise. On other cruises taken the steward would come and introduce himself on the first day, we did not meet our Steward through out our cruise. We did request ice be put in our cooler once from one of the crewmembers in the hallway, our ice bucket was filled, but the cooler was not. The entertainment was OK. The pool was not open until lunch the 2nd day of the cruise and closed by 6:00 pm on the last day at sea. Other cruises we have taken you would never see any trash, empty glasses etc. for very long, as for this ship trash lay around for 2 days in some areas. Getting on and off the boat was quick. We had a good time overall but much improvement is needed. We have heard great reviews from others that have cruised on other Carnival ships, but Celebration needs improvement.
