Arrival Day:
Getting on the boat took us about an hour with security and all. We’ve cruised
before and we thought the wait wasn’t too bad. We got on the boat as soon as we
could so when we got on our rooms weren’t quite ready but we knew that ahead of
time. We didn’t end up eating that much right away because the line was huge. We
were one of the first people on so we were lucky enough to get pool chairs but
many people weren’t so lucky. When our room was finally ready, we went in to
find that there was just on king bed instead of two doubles. We told our steward
but he didn’t speak much English so it was hard. Eventually we did get the right
beds. There were two other people in my room so I got stuck with the bunk bed.
Let me warn you, they are rock hard. The other beds were really soft so I was
jealous of the other people in my room. We decided to have early dinner so we
didn’t have to stay up late. Our waiter was so nice. Everybody in the dining
room was nice. I was in the Horizon dining room so I can’t speak for the Vista
dining room. The show that night was pretty bad. There was a comedian who wasn’t
funny at all. Big Tex on the other hand was hilarious. After the show we were so
tired that we just went to bed.
Day at Sea: I enjoyed the day at sea, but my room mates didn’t. They
slept a lot. I just walked around the ship and did some of the activities like
dancing. That night we ordered room service (yeah we were to lazy to walk to the
buffet). The food was horrible so we ended going to the buffet anyway. That was
a pretty uneventful day.
Key West: Getting off the boat took about 10 minutes which wasn’t too
bad. We thought the Carnival activities on shore were pretty boring so we just
went shopping. We weren’t to impressed but I was really excited when we saw the
chickens running around town.
Bahamas: The Bahamas were gorgeous! We chose to swim with the stingrays.
It was about a 45 minute boat ride to the stingray place which was pretty boring
but the stingrays were so fun. We were almost by ourselves for like 20 minutes
but then a ton of people came and the stingrays were rare to see. We fed the
stingrays by hand. They ate fish heads and I was pretty disgusted but I did it.
It was an experiment I will never forget.
Day at Sea: Once again I was mainly walking around the boat doing random
activities. I had fun. The men’s hairy chest competition was pretty funny. I was
kind of depressed that day because I knew I was leaving the next day.
Overall: I had a really great time and I would recommend it.
These are just some specific things I should mention-
Boat Overall: The boat looked kind of old inside but I didn’t really
care. Putting the anchors down was noisy and woke me up at 4 in the morning.
That was my only real complaint.
Crew: The crew was really
friendly. I didn’t really like the fact that our steward didn’t speak English
well but he really tried to understand what we were saying.
Shows: I thought the shows were so-so. I’m just going to leave it at that.
