My Wife & I chose to celebrate our 25th Anniversary aboard the Elation. Our decision was based upon the brochures and Itinerary. It is safe to say we had no idea what to expect. To say the least we were overwhelmed! The food...the service...the activities.. the staff.. everything about this cruise gets our highest recommendation. May we suggest the following: Request "late" dining, it eases the rush of daily activities and seems to make the nights last longer. Try to take in all the "shows" that are offered...even the "Passenger Talent Show" was awesome. The cruise director and staff have a way of making you feel that this is "thee only" cruise of the year and you are on it. As far as shore excursions. We recommend the Horseback riding in Puerto Vallarta (we crossed the river 6 times on horseback) The "Dolphin Encounter" was also fantastic. We took the "Deer Island kayak tour" in Mazatlan. It features an interesting boat ride to the island...a short but exhilarating hike to the top of Deer Island...and a fun cool kayak trip. The snorkeling is the best bet in Cabo due to the short time spent there. The souvenirs are the same in every port...cheapest in Puerto Vallarta.. and by far the most expensive in Cabo. A last bit of advice...try as early as possible to get into the "rhythm" of the ship...leave your stress and impatience at the dock, relax, enjoy...and most of all talk to and get to know your fellow passengers.. there are some great people out there. We give the Carnival Elation "Two Thumbs Up".
