Itinerary: Progresso and Cozumel

Our family went on a 5 Day Western Carribean cruise. New Orleans Pier and embarktation very smooth and did not take long at all. We were VIP, so maybe that is why it only took a few minutes to board. Lido deck breakfast and lunch very plain & not too tasty, however the Celebration Dining was a wonderful experience each night. The food and service went way over what we expected. Our Cat 12 Suite very spacious and room steward again went above and beyond. A few rocky nights, so the shows had to be modified so the dancers would not "break a leg" literally. Many passengers experienced motion sickness. Some of the repeat games, such as the newlywed game should be changed a bit. Staff were friendly. Maybe a little more effort to smile and greet passengers. The photographers were on top of the game. Shore excursions (water) cancelled due to high winds, so we mainly only got to shop at each port. Progresso, 3 words....waste of time. Cozumel was good for shopping and we went downtown to do just that. Picked up some nice gifts for friends and family. Each port we had about 6-7 hrs. More than enough time to have fun and see the areas. Overall, The Fantasy was a nice FAMILY vacation for the money. We did smell the sewer at first, but once we headed to the Gulf, the smell disappeared. Maybe it had something to do with the port and not the ship. Did not smell it again until we arrived back at New Orleans. Yes, we would sail the Fantasy again. Would recommend changing some of the shows to be more of variety. Oh, and Camp Carnival (6-8 yrs) was excellent. Our daughter loved it.

Something going on at all times. Not enough hours in our day to do it all. Loved the variety. Stitch, the Asst. Cruise Director, made many games tons of laughs and fun.

Book early before you arrive at ports. They were about 4 other ships at each port.
