Being our 7th cruise, we found ourself comparing this cruise to all others. Only because we could drive to Charleston and the rate was cheap, we just wanted to "get on the boat". Basically you get what you pay for , however our group of 18 probably had as good, if not a better time than most, by our own doings. Pool activities are almost non-existant, however we made our own activities. Band is BORING when they play; 30 minutes , same songs each day. Most music was on PA system and not anything that sounded Caribbean. Daily ship food was average, but dinner at late seating was above par. Our staff was excellent, but we always include them in our dinner table activities. The Matre D' and all of our table staff joined us in 'farewell shots' on the last nite, with permission.
Freeport is a wasted trip. We went early, came back and spent the day at the pool. Had a great time, by our own making. Entertainment, shows are below par. Left one early, did not go to several others. Comedian was corny. Ship is very smokey in public areas. Casino is below average. Our worst experience was trying to sleep at nite. The dining room was above us( 4 cabins in a row in our group) and a service corridor was behind us. Noisy all night long. No-one in our group got much sleep. Carnival tried to apologize, but gave us 20% off of nothing basically to try and appease us. I doubt we will cruise this boat again, but after Charleston rebuilds the port, hopefully another higher grade ship will sail from there. We have cruised Carnival, Princess, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. Royal Caribbean is by far the best.

Daily food was average, Dinner food was above average.

Only one electric outlet in stateroom, no lights over mirror in stateroom or bathroom, TOO noisy to sleep, TV channels are ridiculous.

Very minimal, smokey in clubs and hallways.

Freeport is boring, however if you do go ask for Earl's taxi. He will look out for you and give additional tour at no charge above taxi rate.

Although it sounds like only complaining, we did have a good time overall, thanks to Senor Frog, Atlantis and our ability to create our own good times. However, if I would have paid more to get on ship, it would have been a disappointment.
