This was my husband and I first cruise. We had to fly into Orlando, Florida the
day before which was a good idea, due to the weather. The shuttle bus ride was
fun and the bus driver was very helpful with making sure our paperwork and
things where filled out correctly. Sorry I can not remember his name. Getting on
the ship was a breeze. Our first stop was Freeport, Bahamas. We shared a taxi
ride with another couple to the international bazaar. Not what I read in the
books. The ride there was not pretty. Then when we get there, there was this
lady screaming welcome to International Bazaar all day long. It was not nice to
shop there, maybe because they have not rebuilt from the hurricane's in 2004.
Not much good stuff to say about Freeport. The Taxi driver where very rude! Oh I
met this couple and all I can say is do not be late getting back to the ship
before it sails to the next port.
The cruise was fun. I mean this was our first cruise we partied till the sun
came up. The food was ok, every one was helpful if we had any questions.
My husband won about 400.00 dollars in the casino, he never wins. I got a
message on the first night of the cruise that was great! I got a discount some
first night special. The Fantasy ship was full all rooms taken, so one thing I
did not like is that there was not enough seats in the shade to eat or sit by
the pool. The ship was very clean our room was great, there where lots of
entertainment on board but me any my husband loved DJ Sugar in club 21. She kept
the top 20 hits playing all night long. The crew did the basic to get through
the cruise. I do not remember any one's name on an special things they did for
us. Next we where in Nassau, Bahamas. We had a really nice time there and the
taxi service driver was really educated on the city and even took us for a mini
tour through the Atlantis hotel. It is very nice there, I think we will try to
go there and stay there for a couple of days. 25 dollars a couple-good deal. We
saw all of Nassau. From what he said he took us by Oprah's and Michael Jackson
beach home. I would wait till you get off the ship to go on a excursion. Check
the prices. To disembark was a breeze. I had read many cruise cruise reviews and
they where all bad about the disembark process. You should just sit back and
wait for a while enjoy some breakfast. When they say it ok to leave the ship
every one runs to line up and that is why they have to wait so long.
All in all I was very please with my first cruise experience. It is as fun as
you make it.
