Overall, the cruise on Carnival Facination met my expectations, except for the last day on the trip the ocean was very choppy and you could literally feel every bang and bump of the waves. The ride was very rocky and sickening.

Overall the food met my expectations, however, the Lido Restaurant Service need some improvements. The lines at the hot bar were long and if you didn't have someone to hold you a seat, you didn't sit and eat on the deck. There is also a lack of communication with staff. The majority of the staff spoke little or didn't understand English very well, resulting in what you see is what you get...don't ask questions.

The dining room service was enjoyable. The waiter at our table was very pleasant with a great sense of humor. Trinidad was our waiter, he even danced with my 81 year old mother at the Captain's celebration, which made her time in the dining area very exciting and memorable. Speaking of the Captains celebration, we got all dressed up to meet the captin but never saw him. That dance I was referring to, was one song, no more dancing after that.

The stateroom was comfortable. The service was good. There were sodas and a bottle of water placed in the cabin with a price list to go along with them. It would have been nice if free sodas and bottle water came with the cabin as a compliment.

I only took advantage of the casino. I used my sail and sign cash card to play the slots and found it to be time consuming because each time you wanted to play, you had to go through a process of signing in with a pin number and it would error out about three times before it accepted the pin number. Also, my mom and I left the casino unaware we had winnings. The last night on the cruise we got a call to our cabin saying we had monies owed to us at the casino. Because my mom got sea sick on the last day I went up to get our winnings and was encounter by a rude casino cashier. I had my mom's ID, Passport, cruise sail & sign card, and her pin number, but was not allowed to collect her winnings. My son had to rent a wheelchair to bring my sick mother who could hardly hold her head up due to motion sickness, to collect her winnings. Due to lack of communication tempers flared.

The shore excursions we took advantage of were simply wonderful.

I am planning a cruise to Jamaica for next year, If there is a Carnival cruise going that way I will probably book it, but if it is Carnival Facination, I would have to give it some serious thought. I've been on other Carnival cruises
in the past and found Facination to be the least fun and leasts guest friendly.
