Hello, my name is Deborah and we just got back from our first cruise ever. My husband, daughter (age 19) and my 2 grandsons (ages 8 & 9 ) Along with my sister, brother in law & 2 nieces (ages 16 & 18) we all had a great time. We went on Carnival's ms holiday. we left out of New Orleans on Saturday 18th (one of the coldest days of the year!!) That night and the next day was sort of cool but it was nice. There is lots to do on the boat. My husband loved the casino , and I loved the shops on board. The grandsons meet several kids to hang out with at the camp carnival. My daughter & nieces were not seen to often because they were busy themselves exploring all the stuff on the boat.

The second day was the formal captains cocktail party and dinner. we all dressed up in our finest and had a great time. we just loved the lobster & steak dinner. I must say we had one great waiter & assistant waiter. his name was Sam, hopefully if you go on the holiday I hope you get Sam. He was so nice and helpful. always had a smile, and made us feel very special!! We couldn't stop in Playa cause the water was a little rough for the smaller boats to pick us up, so we actually docked at a pier in Calica which I think was about 2 or 5 miles from Playa. We took a taxi to Playa which cost us $10 each way. And a word of advice hold on cause they drive fast!! It was funny though we laughed the whole ride over. Once in Playa we walked around a bit in the shops. Be ready to be called into the shops, they stand there and say shop here, come in here, and they don't give up. You have to just walk away if you don't want to go in .

Also if traveling with young ladies, don't let them out of your site, they were trying to pick up our girls with us there, which was kind of scary to me. They were saying they would be their Mexican lover, they will give us a good price if they can spend the night with out girls, I couldn't believe it! Needless to say our girls stayed close to us the whole time.

We then went to the beach which was beautiful. It was windy and the water was cold, but we went in anyway. We didn't stay in long but it was fun running with the waves. We all returned to the boat sunburned. our next day was in Cozumel Mexico. My husband signed up for the sea trek tour which he just loved!! He said you put a helmet on your head which reminded him of a fishbowl. He said you then climb down this latter and enter the water. You can breath and wear glasses with the helmet on under the water. You go about 20 feet deep and experience life under water with out getting your hair wet. He really enjoyed it a lot the fish are right by you.

Myself and my daughter and 2 grandsons, we opted for the dolphin encounter. This was cool you put a life jacket on & walk down a pier that is in the water, you are in waist high water and the dolphin comes right by you. you get to feel the dolphin, watch it do tricks and even kiss the dolphin if you like. We really enjoyed this. the rest of the day we went shopping by the shops that were by the pier the boat docked at. My sister and her family didn't do any tours and they shopped all day in the downtown area which they came back with some good stuff for a fairly good price.

The shows on the boat were very good , and they take pictures of you all the time, but of course you wind up buying most of them because they come out so good. you don't have to buy any if you don't want. The room steward is great he did a great job on keeping our room clean. we had a problem with the toilet not flushing on 2 different occasions but I called the pursers office and they sent someone right away, so it really wasn't a problem at all. Everyone on the boat is so helpful, we never encounter one rude person. The other great thing is the whirlpool tub. it was so relaxing . we met another couple from Chicago , one couple from Florida , and another from Alabama. just a word of advice don't be shy, everyone is there to have a good time. also in the formal dining room , the waiter and staff do little surprises for you each night. they dance and sing and get you to join in , it was great!! And they have food 24 hours a day. if you are hungry and even if you are not, there is food you can get. the kids loved having pizza and ice cream available 24 hours a day.

When it was time to leave it all went so smooth. We met in the room where we were suppose to and we were off the boat with all our luggage in 30 minutes (we were the first group called to leave) just a word of advice, put some bright tags or ribbons on your luggage, it makes it so much easier to find. We are going to cruise again, we are planning on going on the newest ship conquest next summer. If you haven't been on a cruise , do it its great!!!!
