I was very impressed with this ship. Although she is one of the oldest ships in Carnival's fleet, she was very well maintained. The carpet in all areas of the ship looked new, chairs in the dining room well kept. The seats in the main show lounge were a little uncomfortable due to a seam/rim of fabric at the back of the seat cushion right where your rear meets your back (know where I mean?)

The food was excellent. I believe Carnival has the best food of any cruise line (you must try the Pumpkin Soup). The waiter, assistant waiter were both very good and friendly. The maitre' D came over to our table almost nightly to check on us. He knew kids names by the second night and that made them feel very important.
Some disappointments. The shows were not as good as other ships.

The cruise director thought he was the best looking, funniest man alive and guess what? He wasn't. He was on my very last nerve by the end of the first show and it got worse as the week progressed. But he didn't ruin my week. The guy Avi in the piano bar was fantastic. The band in Doc Holiday's was good, a man and woman duo, but very loud. The Tahiti Lounge was turned into a Karoke bar every night. So the entertainment was lacking. Still the casino and the massage chairs kept me occupied. If you've never experienced the massage chairs you must try it. $1.00 for a minute and a half. Very relaxing. Plus they are facing the ocean so you get the best of both worlds for $1.00.

We only had two ports on this cruise, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel. The taxi into town in Cozumel is now $6 per cab compared to $5 the last time I was here. Still, good shopping and great guacomole at Pancho's backyard inside Los Cinco Soles. Playa del Carmen is still a glorified flea market as far as I'm concerned. I don't like to haggle or hassle. I would have stayed on ship if I hadn't forgotten to buy vanilla in Cozumel the day before. (we had to switch days because of a medical emergency).

All in all, it was a very good ship at a very good price. It doesn't have the big atrium, or large spa area the other ships have, but a nice, warm friendly ship. I would recommend it highly.
