I was very pleased with our bartender Martin. He always made sure he found us on the ship to get our drinks and he always knew where (what he called bambinos) our children were and he would let us know. At dinner when we would go to the dining room he would have the soda’s at the table waiting for the kids. I was very pleased with him and at the end of the week we left him a tip that he was not expecting us to do. The look of excitement when we gave him a tip was one of a kind. The food in the dining room was okay. The servings were very small. If you are hungry be prepared to ask for more.
The Headwaiter we had “Frank” bit the bullet the 1st day on the ship. You would ask for ketchup, butter- etc, he could never remember it. We would ask the asst. waiter “Percy” for it and he would have it there within seconds. I guess that is why at the end of the cruise I left “Percy” a bigger tip. I was also pleased with our cabin steward he was the greatest you could ask for. (I don’t remember his name) The beds were always made, he folded extra clothes that were lying out and he picked toys up and placed them in the closet. He was the only person I left the whole tip amount of $70.00 to. The smorgas board food was okay. Some of the food that is suppose to be hot was a luke warm, the milk had set out for a while and was also warm. (yuck).
The pizza was great. It beats what my local pizza parlor serves. While in the smorgas area when you were done with a plate or a table the busboys had it picked up or even cleaned for you within seconds. The children loved the daycare setup and the girls that worked it were terrific and the entertainment and cruise director “Simon” was enjoyable. Over all I would state that the cruise was excellent. You can not rate a few people on the whole ship to ruin your review. I would do it again.
