Itinerary: Western Caribbean
Although advertised as a Grand Cayman cruise all year, Carnival changed the itinerary (we discovered after we left the port of Miami) due to a "new" law that we couldn't dock at Grand Cayman on Christmas. Instead of making the day before or after, they exchanged it for Key West! Not exactly a suitable substitute for my family. It was a sin pit and we wanted a Caribbean destination so we could have great snorkeling. Then instead of Cancun, they switched to Playa del Carmen. Then there were swells so we had to go to Cozumel, waste 1/2 the day getting off the ship into a 1 hour taxi line to get a filthy taxi into a filthy town with "souvenirs" made in Italy. The restaurants were too filthy to eat at. Carnival offered us 25% off another cruise - no way. I would never trust Carnival with my vacation time or money again.
I wanted a partial refund, but got nothing.
I felt the waiters at the restaurant were rude to my teenage daughters and a crew member
intimidated my daughter in the hallway near our room. He
was persistent and would not accept no as an answer to his inappropriate advances.
Carnival just assured me this wasn't normal when I wrote a complaint.
