This is our first cruise on Carnival Cruise line. (we've taken other cruises on
Norwegian and Disney) This is also our first cruise with our two sons (ages
10/13). We intentionally chose a short 4-night cruise because we weren't sure
how well the kids would do.
We feel we made a good decision to choose Carnival's Imagination. We were
pleased with the advertised "roomy" accommodations (we stayed on an outside
room. While no-where near the spaciousness of a typical hotel room; we felt
comfortable. We had a queen-size bed and two "overhead" bunk beds. This worked
out fine for us. The bathrooms are adequate -- a plus for the shower -- plenty
of hot water and pressure.
Our kids enjoyed the 24-hr pizza and ice-cream-- we were told that this came
about as a result of passenger feedback.
We had excellent room and dining service--- nothing short of "excellent".
Our short-stay in Key West and Cozumel was fine.
The quality of food is good --both in the dining hall and in the lido deck (main
gathering deck).
The shows/entertainment were good. There are some areas that are more difficult
to see and I would recommend arriving early to get yourself a better seat.
Our bill/invoice was accurate--they made it very easy to pay for drinks
(soda/wine), any purchases, gratuities.
The check-in/check-out process works well except for early-ship depature where
there is a rush to get off this ship.
Our kids found enough things to do onboard --though we would suggest leaving the
kids with relatives so that you can enjoy the vacation.
