The food and staff in the main diningroom was very good. Doing lunch on the Lido Deck Buffet was interesting. We were sitting along the starboard side of the ship when another guest came out on deck with a tray of food. She hit the doorway and the wind just right and her tray and food went flying. The tray went over the side of the ship. Food went flying on the deck and the women did her best to pick up the mess but she was not going to get it all with out a broom or a mop. It was two hours before staff came over to pick up what remaind of the mess. As I mentioned above my friend was in a wheelchair. And the buffet area has lots of dining chairs which one would expect so we would make our way through the tables and chairs on deck. What I was not expecting was the staff to stand in the middle of the aisle as we were trying to make our way through. I know that there are many guest on the ship and yes this was the start of spring break but I have never seen such disrespect from staff towards guests. Since we are over 40 and only had a glass of wine at dinner it was not like we were behaving badly to deserve such treatment.
Our stateroom was always neat and ready. We did not see much of our cabin stawert but that was ok he was doing his job.
This was by far the result of the cruise director Stephanie. The cruise director expected other guest to keep us entertained. If it was not for Trivia and Karaoke, the ship would not have had any entertainment for most of the cruise. The comedians used their shows from the first night again on the last night. I guess the staff forgot to tell them the ship alternates between 4 and 5 day cruises.
We were on the ship for sun and a small bit of shopping. We did small shopping excursions you may want to read some of the other reviews.
I have done many cruise and specifically 7 on Carnival this by far did not live up to the other cruises. This was by far the result of the cruise director. In Grand Caymon you must use tenures to get between the ship and the port. I knew this a head of time and expected it. I had a friend with me who was in a wheelchair Not 1, Not 2 but 3 of the cruise director’s staff sent use to the elevators in the center of the ship to disembark, unfortunately where they sent us was the 4th floor of the ship and they were disembarking on the 3rd floor. (Meaning a walk down a flight of stairs.) Not sure how that happens in a wheel chair.) Since I had asked if we were supposed to use the forward elevators, and the cruise staff told me no, it was not only aggravating to me but also the guest that were behind us trying to disembark. (And there was a tenure located at the bottom of the front elevators.) The last day of the cruise there was a presentation to sell us another cruise and earn ship board credits. It was a bit of a cool day so I thought I would see what it was all about. It would have been fine if the women presenting the materials did not bash some of the other cruise lines including some of the ones owned by Carnival, specifically Holland America and Princess. I have been on Holland America and Princess and find them to have more tact and respect in their cruise directors little pinky then a majority of the cruise staff on this ship. I don't want to bring down all the staff, the assistant cruise director Nick and Jacob did a very good job.
